Death calls into question the meaning of his life. For an eternity he has been leading his constant existence and carrying out his varied duties. He mourns old, glorious times in which life and death were still associated with splendor and glory, while the present is driving him more and more into depression and burnout.

 

In his office in Vienna, Death makes more and more mistakes in his work, which have fatal consequences and attract the attention of the High Court. Death has to attend motivational coaching to get back to work, but he quickly proves to be a hopeless case.

 

The three beautiful but terrible sisters of fate want to take his place and do everything they can to expose the inadequacies of the depressed Death and replace him. Death has to pull himself together, because his failure threatens to unsettle the entire order of humanity, and the sisters of fate can hardly wait to take control.

 

When Death happens to attend a seminar by the egocentric motivational coach Maché, he regains hope. Maché, who barely has his own life under control, is supposed to help death get back to work with joy. The fate of humanity depends on this unlikely duo...
